I just wanted to do a write up on a great place for men to get their hair styled locally in the Twin Cities area.

I’ve been going to Justin at Denny Kemp Salon for a while now (on a hot tip from my friend Elijah at Vision).  I love that I can go up to Justin, and say “Gimme whatever you think looks good” and he’s on it. I trust giving him free reign like that because I’ve seen what he can do. Justin brings the cutting edge creativity that I’m looking for. He’s been styling at Denny Kemp for 7 years now and has been in the game a total of 12 years. He’s seasoned.

Take your significant other out to dinner, for God’s sake. Make it somewhere nice. Pay for them. Give them a kiss, from Trnds.

Go find a red bow tie from Freedom From Doubt or Pierrepont Hicks. Place that on a club collared white oxford from Club Monaco. Get some dark denim jeans from Naked and Famous, cuff the bottoms and wear some Alden Indy’s. Throw a tweed sport coat or a cardigan from Topman over yourself. Get out there.

So much of the time I am approached by the few but curious straight men in my life, asking for advice on how to snag a cutie or just how to dress appropriately for their age.

I would proceed to follow up the question with a list of different links, shops, and sartorial icons for inspiration.

Admittedly, my approach was lackadaisical and in turn only left the poor non-homosexual, thus fashionably confused, souls scratching their heads, all while more fearful towards the seemingly cruel and elite world of fashion. Oops.

Eventually I got off my own blog and on to here after Mr. Tenold’s persuasion to put together a list of, well, what essentially makes the perfect well dressed man.
